Brass Gear by monsterkookies Brass Gear by monsterkookies
Nothing says Industrial or Steampunk like a good old fashioned gear, and gears just so happen to be one of my favourite things to make. I find them therapeutic...

Gears, cogs, sprockets or rotary blades - call them what you want; they are all part of my Mechanical Movement Collection - a vast variety of colours and textures all in the form of unique gears. Each one is different in it's own little way!

But don't be fooled - these gears aren't actually made from metal. They are completely hand-sculpted from polymer clay and I do not use molds of any sort. Each one is textured with old findings that I have collected over the years, and the teeth are completely cut by hand with a single sided razor blade. The gear is one-sided.

It has been antiqued with black acrylics for an old and used look and has been finished with a satin glaze for a slight metallic sheen.
