This is the 63rd piece in my Industrial Heart collection, entitled, Butterfly Kisses.
Like most of my Industrial Hearts, this piece starts with an anatomically correct human heart made from polymer clay - the base. With all of the components of a real human heart, it has also been made to look metallic and Industrial with its panelling and rivets. Gears, metal findings, and other various things are also added.
Do remember Oliver, the green mechanical birdie I made awhile back? If he had a heart, THIS is what it would look like! The two pieces, the bird and the heart, were made to match eachother. This piece was made during a time I had been listening to "Butterfly On A Wheel" by the Mission UK on repeat. Haha! The little brass butterfly pulls the whole design together.
The entire thing has been antiqued with black acrylics to give it an aged and used feel. As always, there is a stainless steel loop in the back which will be attached to a keyring style jump ring and strung onto a necklace.
