This is the 124th piece in my Industrial Heart collection, entitled, Chromium.
Each of my Industrial Hearts starts with an anatomically correct human heart made from polymer clay - the base. With all of the components of a real human heart, it has also been made to look metallic and Industrial with its panelling and rivets. Gears, metal findings, and other various things are also added.
The entire piece is about 1 1/2" tall and is antiqued with black acrylics and then finished with a satin glaze for a slight metal sheen. It has a loop in the top that is attached to a keyring style jumpring and is strung on an 18" silver tone link chain with lobster clasp.
I created this heart for FanExpo, and it sold right away. Being as the tornado hit shortly before FanExpo, I had no way of taking pictures of anything I made because we had no power, so I had to take the photo in my hand just before I sold it. >_< It's got lovely mica-rock colouring, as you can see around the top of the heart.
Whoever can think of a good name for this Industrial Heart will get a lil' prize. I'll decide at the end of the day on December 8th. Leave your suggestion in the comments!
EDIT: I went with Chromium. Thanks everyone - it was VERY hard to choose! I'll definitely be doing more "Name This Industrial Heart" contests again, very soon!
