This is the 80th piece in my Industrial Heart collection, entitled, Curious Contraption.
Like most of my Industrial Hearts, this piece starts with an anatomically correct human heart made from polymer clay - the base. With all of the components of a real human heart, it has also been made to look metallic and Industrial with its panelling and rivets. Gears, metal findings, and other various things are also added.
The entire thing has been antiqued with black acrylics to give it an aged and used feel. As always, there is a stainless steel loop in the back which will be attached to a keyring style jump ring and strung onto a necklace.
This particular piece was requested to have aspects of atleast five different Industrial Heart designs. They picked out their favourite details and basically asked me to piece them all together to create one unique heart. Can you guess which heart designs went into it? I called it Curious Contraption namely because the design flows so well - it looks like it could actually do something with the twist of a knob or a push of a button.
