Gravely is the 5th bird that I have made so far, and is the brother Bertram.
...Goodness, how could I forget poor little sad Gravely!?
That's the problem - everyone always forgets about him, especially when he's around his brother, Bertram. Bertram always has the spotlight, namely because he is a lot more chipper than poor lil' Gravely.
Like his name, Gravely IS sort of gravely in appearance - he looks a lot more sad than my other birdies. But hey, wouldn't you be sad too if your brother were always picking on you? He's a bit of a runt, and smaller and plainer than Bertram... so that may explain why he's a bit of an outcast.
He is made from polymer clay and has been antiqued with black acrylics to give a worn and greased look. Details are picked out against the cold silver steel with a lovely brass colour. He stands rather high on his wire legs. Yes, he stands by himself. How does he balance? Well, look at how his body is posed. The good old "center of gravity" rule helps him to stand with no problems.
