I've made a few strawberry canes in my lifetime, and each time I hope that I progress, and this time I really feel like I HAVE progressed.
Strawberries have to be the most hardest cane to make. I don't make a lot of canes, but when somebody says something is hard to make, I want to make it. I just like to challenge myself.
It took me two other tries before this one to get it right, and before that I have made two other canes, one of which sucked, and one of which worked well. I used them on my waffles. But than after those two tries came two other crappy batches, and than I got this batch which turned out lovely. Hoorah!
But I haven't used any of these yet.
Some of the slices in this batch have tiny air bubbles in it, but for some reason they disappear when I glaze them, so... I don't know how or why, but I glaze all my pieces, so it isn't a problem.
Please don't ask for a tutorial - because I have NO idea how the hell I would explain it. I honestly just winged it... and this batch happened to work out.
Sigh...
