This is Leemington - he was found stuck in a bundle of vine ripened tomatoes, grown in a place named Leamington.
Yes, that's actually how it happened. Sort of. I was browsing the produce market just the other day and found a bundle of vine-ripened tomatoes that happened to be grown in Leamington - the tomato capital of Canada I do believe. And I thought, gee... that would make a great name for a mechanical bird, and he would be red just like these lovely tomatoes. Lame story or not, that's how my little Leemington came to be. He is a mechanical birdie, similar in concept to my anatomically correct Industrial Heart designs. He is riveted, paneled, and metallic looking. But don't be fooled - it's polymer clay, not metal. He is bright red metallic with worn steel accents and various metal findings, electronic components, springs, tubing, gears, and such. He has been antiqued with black acrylics, but do not be fooled by his rusty and worn exterior - Leemington has the sweetest song. His electronic voice box on his chin allows him to be heard for miles and miles. He may not be able to fly, but he can hop hop hop along on his two wired feet. His tail is in the air and his head is towards the ground. He is probably just listening for his food, underground. From his feet to the tip of his tail (the highest point) he stands at 2 3/4 inches tall maximum. He is completely one-of-a-kind, and no other will be made to look like him. He is the youngest cousin of Bertram, the first mechanical birdie I ever made. Pictures of him can be found in my Polymer Clay Gallery. I am NOW accepting commissions for custom mechanical birdies. They are $50.00 plus shipping, and are made completely to your expectations. Note me! If you do not have or do not want to use Etsy, just send me a note and we can go from there! Come take my pulse,
