Mechanical Growth - Backby *monsterkookies

This is the 50th piece in my Industrial Heart collection, entitled, Mechanical Growth.

Like most of my Industrial Hearts, this piece starts with an anatomically correct human heart made from polymer clay - the base. With all of the components of a real human heart, it has also been made to look metallic and Industrial with its panelling and rivets. Gears, metal findings, and other various things are also added.

I thought it was highly appropriate that my 50th heart would be symbolic of my own personal growth, as well! So being as the person who asked for this heart was looking for mechanical vs nature, and was also looking for flowers, it was a good opportunity!

As you can see, this piece is bursting with lovely purple flowers, and the focal point is the lotus looking flower in the front inside a little door. The door doesn't actually close, because I wanted the flower to be bigger than the door to give it some big blooming appeal. There is also gold lace going up the left side of the heart, and the flowering vines go all the way to the back. The vines and some little leaves have a touch of gold to them.

The entire thing has been antiqued with black acrylics to give it an aged and used feel. As always, there is a stainless steel loop in the back which will be attached to a keyring style jump ring and strung onto a necklace.
