Mr and Mrs MechOwlies by monsterkookies Mr and Mrs MechOwlies by monsterkookies
These are the twenty-seventh (Mrs.) and twenty-eighth (Mr.) MechOwlies that I have created, and they have been nicknamed "Pierre & Marie" - after the famous couple who shared the 1903 Nobel Prize in physics for their research on radiation.

They are a set of MechOwlie toppers for a wedding cake. Theme was a silver base with their wedding colours of emerald green, dark purple, and copper.

Congratulations Tilde & Dean - the happy couple that will be getting married this weekend! I will have photos of these MechOwlies on the cake, soon. :)

Although this creature looks to be made from metal, it is not - it is completely handsculpted from polymer clay with the addition of a few metal findings. This piece has been glazed with a satin finish for a slight sheen and durability.

:bulletpurple: Custom MechOwlies are available for purchase in my Etsy Shop.

Will you hate me if I say they look a little like leprechaun owls? Haha! They're darn awesome though. :)

Also, may I ask: Do you use a mould to create the little square-wire-mesh look on the head and body? Or are they separate strips of ready-made metal?

Haha, thanks. :)

I just roll one of my tool handles along the clay to get that corrugated metal look. :) The handles on some of my pokey tools have some neat textures. That's not what they are supposed to be used for, but aw well. XD
