If you've been following Monster Kookies from the beginning, you'd know that I seem to be quite coo-coo for tentacles. So following this tentacle obsession, I decided to create something a bit more pretty and in classic MK colours!

This tentacle starts out as a lovely pearl-violet on one end and tapers to a pretty pearly white on the other end. It has a very gracious curl to it! Of course, you can't have purple without green - that's why this lil' tentacle has bright green suckers with lime green centers.

Hand sculpted from polymer clay, of course.

Well technically neither one is really clay...

Polymer clay is made from pvc and usually needs to be baked (such as Sculpey).

Epoxy clays are generally two parts, when you mix them, there is a chemical reaction that causes the hardening. You have to finish the part before it hardens, and it's generally very sticky, like sculpting chewing gum! The end result us usually stronger, less brittle than polymer clay. Common brands are Milliput, and Kneadatite aka Green Stuff.

I've never heard of epoxy clay... O___O

The only paint I used was the bright green in the centre of the suckers. Everything else is clay. The paint I use is acrylic, but I only use it for tiny details.

Yep! I think there is a little transparency in pearl coloured clay. :) It gives that irridescent look.
