After much experimentation, I finally mastered the two-tone hard candy swirl technique! It's next to impossible using caning techniques and just isn't as nice using acrylics, so I devised a way to create the signature swirl by using a variation of the lentil bead technique.

This candy swirl is made entirely by hand from polymer clay - no paint! It is a lovely bright red and slightly translucent white in colour and they look oh-so tasty. The great thing about these hard candy swirls is that they look like two different candies - peppermint swirls and strawberry-vanilla swirls (such as a Campino's).

The red candy stripes come in from the sides and then come to a delicate swirl in the middle. They were flattened and diveted in the middle just like real hard candies! Each candy is glazed with a high-shine gloss to give it that pretty candy sheen.

Available as Stud Earrings, Cufflinks, Bobby Pins / Hair Pins, and Adjustable Rings. :)

Completely hand-sculpted from polymer clay.

Hmm... These remind me of the Halls Strawberry Cream Cough Drops... The look exactly the same, lol.

What paint do you use on top of polymer clay?

I don't use any paint on my peppermint swirls - it's all red and white polymer clay. :)

Do you use paint on the others? (steel collection and Jellyfish/octopuses etc)

Not often. It's mainly just mica powder, but I do use paint once in awhile for tiny details.
