This is the 125th piece in my Industrial Heart collection, entitled, Silver Circuit.
Each of my Industrial Hearts starts with an anatomically correct human heart made from polymer clay - the base. With all of the components of a real human heart, it has also been made to look metallic and Industrial with its panelling and rivets. Gears, metal findings, and other various things are also added.
The entire piece is about 1 1/2" tall and is antiqued with black acrylics and then finished with a satin glaze for a slight metal sheen. It has a loop in the top that is attached to a keyring style jumpring and is strung on an 18" silver tone link chain with lobster clasp.
Most of the designs I create for my Industrial Hearts are based off the people who order them. However, there are times where I will just *have at 'er* and create one based off of nothing but where my sculpting fingers take me.
If you've ever seen a circuit board up close, you'll notice all these lines and circles running up, down, and parallel to eachother. This is what inspired this design. It's all lines and circles. And texture.
