Artist's Comments

This piece is an anatomically correct human heart made from polymer clay, and has been created using three colours, plus the gold in the middle.

The three colours are black, red, and white. All colours and the heart itself has a very symbolic meaning.

Black stands for sin, and White stands for forgiveness. Between forgiveness and sin stands Red, the blood of Christ. And in the blood stands a golden cross.

There are red veins running into the white, which stands for the blood that Christ has shed has given us a chance at forgiveness. There are also white veins running into the black, standing for the very fact that sins can be forgiven.

Sin meets forgiveness in the back, where the two colours stand beside eachother without nothing in between - all because Christ died for us.

The person I made this for has a lot of belief in Christ, however I, personally, do not have a belief in him. Some would call that Atheism, but I just call it Realism. And although I may not share her beliefs, I do NOT descriminate against it, because everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.

So yes, I hope she likes it! :)

It hasn't been glazed yet, but I didn't want a glare in the photo. It will be triple glazed.

Will you send it in pendant form? and do you mind if I quote your explination? (

You can go right ahead and quote the explanation, of course. :) Would you like me to put it on a necklace for you? I have 20" black rubber cord necklaces with chain extentions. It would look quite bold and lovely with your pendant, for sure. :)

That sounds fantastic! Can it be hung so the cross faces outwards? (I have a terrible time w pendants turning around on me. I guess they -um- bounce around to much.)

I have a ?: What do you do with the commission designs after you sell the commissioned piece?
I should have asked that earlier, but forgot.

I am so amazed with your talent. Its wonderful. :D

No, this pendant will not turn around because the loop is firmly inserted in a way that it will always face frontwards. :) So you won't have any problems with that! :D

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by your question, but I can tell you that when I take the photos, I keep them here on my DA page as well as my website inside my portfolio to show people examples of my work. It's just like adding a piece to my portfolio. But I am guessing what you mean is, do I keep the design to use again in the future? Sometimes. But if somebody specifically asks me not to ever replicate it for anyone else, I won't. Because it was your design - and you have the pictures you gave me to prove it. :)
