The Day I Found You - Back

This is the 69th piece in my Industrial Heart collection, entitled, The Day I Found You.

Like most of my Industrial Hearts, this piece starts with an anatomically correct human heart made from polymer clay - the base. With all of the components of a real human heart, it has also been made to look metallic and Industrial with its panelling and rivets. Gears, metal findings, and other various things are also added.

It's a bit of a long story, but this piece is basically inspired by the journey this couple took to find eachother. The panels are scattered and unconnected - resembling continents. The wires are the routes they travelled to find eachother. And the compass, well, I think that is self-explanitory.

The entire thing has been antiqued with black acrylics to give it an aged and used feel. As always, there is a stainless steel loop in the back which will be attached to a keyring style jump ring and strung onto a necklace.
