Winged Stitches - Back

This is the 64th piece in my Industrial Heart collection, entitled, Winged Stitches.

Like most of my Industrial Hearts, this piece starts with an anatomically correct human heart made from polymer clay - the base. With all of the components of a real human heart, it has also been made to look metallic and Industrial with its panelling and rivets. Gears, metal findings, and other various things are also added.

I actually made this piece a few months ago, but I stopped halfway through because I got slammed with orders. At that time, the leaves were falling off the trees and Autumn was upon us, so I went ahead and used these moth-like wings with an Autumn hue to them. The back has been pressed with little wings and the actual heart itself is more small than all my other Industrial Hearts.

The entire thing has been antiqued with black acrylics to give it an aged and used feel. As always, there is a stainless steel loop in the back which will be attached to a keyring style jump ring and strung onto a necklace.
