I get a lot of favs - (I've been around for a long time and have lots of deviations) I do not thank people for them, partly because there are many, partly because I am lazy, but mostly because I really don't like it when people that *me* for favs on my front page. I feel like public thanking is this subtle way of advertising yourself... I am, indeed, happy and thankful when people fav, but, eh... I always thank people for features, though!

I think its rude whn they start to "think" they're all high and mighty and can not be bothered with their "fans" ofcourse we as people can not expect then 2 answer every question or reply 2 each "Omg this is so cool" comment its tedious. But once I sent a note 2 a deviant reporting what I thot was art theift because there was no credit! so when they replied she had rudly told me 2 check some list she suposedly had on her page, which I never saw btw and still havnt seen it. and didnt even thank me. People that like f*cking erk me and get under my skin. even tho its online it hurts and what joy do u get from hurting others? honestly just because someone is a good artist doesnt give them the right 2 treat people who aren't very good like me like shit. I'm not sure if I have any deviant art friends because this is the online world I dnt wana make people feel awkward I'm a pretty in ur face peppy person... lol

I think all the question ones, whether they are on the profile, deviation or in a note, it is just common curtsy to reply.


I don't think its rude to not reply to small comments or things like that.

I don't think it's all that rude to not reply for comments/notes, possibly because i'd think that they're busy/not interested and it doesn't really bother me I guess my rudeness alarm only goes off when others become unmannerly and vicious

I understand not replying, what I do think is rude is a when you state your opinion on something and instead of providing a reply with an opposite a opinion, the person insults you, your work, etc.

My take on it is this:

Just because you comment on something or note an artist, doesn't mean they owe you a response. Unless you're commissioning them or something. But in general, expecting a response is kind of unreasonable.

Also: I've gotten creepy notes before.

The only thing that really bothers me is when I ask a question on a deviation, and they don't answer me back. It makes me feel like "How much of a hotshot do you think you are?" Especially when people whine about getting too many faves and not enough comments(which is annoying anyway), and then when you DO leave a comment, they don't even answer you back, even to say thanks. I think it's rude not to answer specific questions a deviant has asked either on your profile, by commenting on the deviation, or especially by note. Even if someone just sent a note to say hi it should still be answered.
