Pernod The Mechanical Birdie

This Mechanical Birdie is named Pernod, and he is the 7th birdie I have made so far.

At last, the lost brother to Oliver has been found. Recognized by the golden crest in his head, his location was given to us by a concerned onlooker that saw him bustling around in the bushes looking for nuts and bolts to eat.

When both Oliver and Pernod were introduced to eachother under monitored conditions, they were angrily poking at eachother with their beaks, but it was later determined as a very typical brotherly-rival type reaction. After a little bit of a ruckus, they are fine and getting along just fine.

Some observations we are still puzzled on is their crests; although they both have a crest atop their head, both crests are different. It has been determined that although they are brothers, they were born at much different times.

He is made from polymer clay and has been antiqued with black acrylics to give a worn and greased look. Details are picked out against the metallic Pernod green with a lovely golden brass colour. He stands rather high on his wire legs. Yes, he stands by himself. How does he balance? Well, look at how his body is posed. The good old "center of gravity" rule helps him to stand with no problems.
