Scrap Steel

This is the 121st piece in my Industrial Heart collection, entitled, Scrap Steel.

Each of my Industrial Hearts starts with an anatomically correct human heart made from polymer clay - the base. With all of the components of a real human heart, it has also been made to look metallic and Industrial with its panelling and rivets. Gears, metal findings, and other various things are also added.

The entire piece is about 1 1/2" tall and is antiqued with black acrylics and then finished with a satin glaze for a slight metal sheen. It has a loop in the top that is attached to a keyring style jumpring and is strung on an 18" silver tone link chain with lobster clasp.

This is actually one of two hearts that were created for a couple. Scrap Steel showcases him - a zombie, gore, and industrial loving guy. The entire thing is jam packed with wonderful scrap steel texture, bloody stitched wounds, and gears.

This piece actually inspired an entirely new collection of pendants - the "scrap metal collection", in which I will be posting pictures of very soon.
